Honorable Mayor Kenneth Broome
As a lifelong native of Utica, MS, I have a loving wife, Mrs. Shirley (Callahan) and one son, Kenneth Jr. I served twenty-two and a half years in the United States Armed Forces and
dedicated thirty-four years of service as Maintenance Coordinator for Hinds County Public Works, before becoming the mayor of Utica, I was inducted into the Hall of Fame for my twenty-four years of service to the town of Utica. My service to the town of Utica started in 1993 when I was elected to the town's Board of Alderman to serve Ward 4, and my service continued when I was elected mayor 2013. As mayor, I have made plans to work with the Hinds County Economic Development District to bring new businesses to Utica, work with the Hinds County Public Works Director and the Board of Supervisors to ensure that all streets are in good condition, obtain water grants to refurbish old water systems and to repair infrastructure, and continue to ensure that Utica remains safe at all times. To help me better serve the people of this great town, I plan to establish a Citizens Advisory Group that will help aid in the development of the town.
